Bedegung Biodiversity Park, located in the Waterfall Tourism Area in Bedegung Village, Tanjung Agung District, Muara Enim Regency, is one example of biodiversity conservation in Muara Enim. The status of this parkland belongs to the Muara Enim Regency Government, which is officially regulated through the Decree of the Regent of Muara Enim  dated October 16, 2013. With an area of entire biodiversity park development area of around 10 ha, this park offers an experience of interacting with nature directly. On July 24, 2023,

the biodiversity team from PT Tanjung Enim Lestari Pulp and Paper (PT TEL) visited this park with the aim of benchmarking biodiversity program.

Bedegung Biodiversity Park was first built in 2013. The local government through the Environmental Agency has carried out development in the form of making road access, providing clean water, and making seedling houses and public facilities. The development of facilities and infrastructure for Bedegung Biodiversity Park was supported by PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) in collaboration with Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). Up until now, the team from IPB regularly visits to conduct research and collect data such as air levels, oxygen levels, soil, plant development, and routine maintenance of flora in Taman Kehati Bedegung.

During the visit, the PT TEL team also got to know more about the facilities available at Bedegung Biodiversity Park. The park is equipped with various facilities, including a gate, guard post, gazebo, clean water source, toilet, bird breeding, butterfly breeding, greenhouse, and walking path. In addition, the park offers knowledge about the different types of flora that live in it. This provides an opportunity for visitors, including the PT TEL team, to better understand the biodiversity that exists and its important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

Bedegung Biodiversity Park plays an important role in the preservation of the environment and biodiversity in the region. By providing good facilities and information about biodiversity, the park provides an opportunity for visitors, including companies like PT TEL, to learn and gain insight into how important it is to maintain biodiversity for the sustainability of the ecosystem.

In addition, through benchmarking activities and visits such as those undertaken by the PT TEL team, the park can serve as a model or best practice in biodiversity conservation that can be adapted by others. The park provides a valuable opportunity for visitors to understand, appreciate and participate in maintaining biodiversity for a sustainable future.
